Stardust

Description

"Every atom in your body came from a star that exploded. And, the atoms in your left hand probably came from a different star than your right hand. It really is the most poetic thing I know about physics: You are all stardust. You couldn’t be here if stars hadn’t exploded, because the elements - the carbon, nitrogen, oxygen, iron, all the things that matter for evolution and for life - weren’t created at the beginning of time. They were created in the nuclear furnaces of stars, and the only way for them to get into your body is if those stars were kind enough to explode. The stars died so that you could be here today."
Lawrence M. Krauss

“The atoms of our bodies are traceable to stars that manufactured them in their cores and exploded these enriched ingredients across our galaxy, billions of years ago. For this reason, we are biologically connected to every other living thing in the world. We are chemically connected to all molecules on Earth. And we are atomically connected to all atoms in the universe. We are not figuratively, but literally stardust.”
 Neil deGrasse Tyson

Insipiration
Small painting-drawing inspired by Qinni's freckled galaxy girl painting (hope she doesn't mind it)which you can find here:fav.me/d9vv81i and the quotes above

Personal notes
I don't really sleep that well these days, but thanks to this I saw lots of stars lately. Luckily I am living on that part of the city where you can still see some of the stars though of the light pollution.

wow... nicely done!  I can see the inspiration from the original.. but you've added your own personal touch/style. ;-)

Yeah, interesting to think about all those atoms.  We don't see many stars around where I live, but we did get to spend a couple of nights up in the mountains of Tennessee a couple of weeks ago, and there were LOTS of stars on those nights.  It was fun to just lay on our backs and look up at them.

(It's a little like thinking about how all the clay I use comes from the granite in the mountains... slowly weathered by winter ice and summer sun... washed down the face of the rock to collect in little streams and pools... carried further away from the foot of the mountain to swirl and pick up various impurities, like iron-oxide, which give each type of clay its characteristic color and consistency...  ;-) )
