I have been playing with this idea for a while now. Oringally my idea was that her tendril like 'thoughts' would form a bird cage around he, but I didn't suceeded with it. Hopefully I can shape it a bit more with the coloring.
Aww maaan....I feel I am too rusty with pen... haven't been able to draw these days...

Technically, I can see the challenge of differentiating the foreground (front of cage), background (rear of cage) and middle ground (where the tendrils extend up/down from her head. I think you will be able to establish those distances with your colors, which will be stronger than the line weights you have now.
I love the expression you have given her, and the tension in her hands.
